About Little Notes Preschool

My name is Erin Hazard. I'm the owner and teacher of Little Notes Preschool - voted "Best Preschool" in the 2025 Best of Northern Utah Contest! I knew from the time I was a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher, and I graduated from Utah State University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education, and a minor in Piano Performance. I formerly taught Kindergarten, and now teach preschool and piano lessons. I love it!

I sincerely believe that early education is so important to shape and mold our children and their future educational progress. I also deeply believe that music plays such a positive role in learning, and wanted to incorporate the aspects of play, learning, and music all in one preschool. Little Notes Preschool is the best of all worlds - play, learning, music, and a wonderful social experience all rolled into one! I keep my classes small so that I have the ability to provide more one-on-one attention for each child. My background in teaching Kindergarten has helped me to hone in on exactly how to prepare my preschoolers for Kindergarten. We love reading, and learn all about our letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. We work hard to learn the days of the week, our holidays, and writing our names. We learn how to use scissors, practice our coloring and fine motor skills, and have so much fun making many different crafts.

Little Notes Preschool is located in my home in Smithfield. We also have a large fenced-in backyard where we like to play. We love "field trips", and have several of them each year - Smithfield Police, Smithfield Fire Station, and a beekeeper - just to name a few. We also go for a Nature Walk in the fall, and another in the spring. We love holidays and celebrate each holiday with a fun class party, as well as each child's birthday celebration in class. We have a Halloween Parade, write letters to Santa Claus, and have a big Easter Egg Hunt. We have a fun Preschool Graduation, complete with caps and gowns, and school pictures at the beginning of the year as well as at the end of the year in our graduation caps and gowns. We really do have so much fun all year long!

More than anything, I make sure that each child feels loved and cared for. I want every child to leave my preschool knowing that they are important and that they are smart and special. I want each of them to feel loved and know that they can do anything they put their minds to. I love my preschoolers as if they were my own children, and I want them to feel that love and confidence going out into the world after preschool.
